How to Choose Colored PVC Foam Board

Surface Inspection
When inspecting the material, the surface should appear smooth and flat, with a color pattern that complements the decoration site. There should be no cracks or bumps, and the panels should be easily disassembled. The surface should be glossy without scratches, and tapping the board with the hand should produce a crisp sound. Particularly for ceilings, a preference is often given to a large color brightness and a single color without patterns. However, for variety, spellings and grid patterns can also be considered. In toilet ceilings, it is advisable to choose a bright format. In kitchen ceilings, consider selecting a formatted ceiling over a kitchen bar to avoid monotony.

Toughness and Pressure Resistance Testing:
High-quality PVC plates should withstand constant pinching without cracking, indicating good pressure resistance, strong material, and a long service life. If the board does not deform when bent by hand, possesses elasticity, and produces a crisp sound when tapped, it suggests the gusset is robust and will not sink or deform under certain pressure. A strong, irritating smell, difficulty in bending, and cracking indicate a product that may be harmful to the body, and it is not recommended for purchase.

Flame Retardant Performance Experiment:
This experiment aims to assess the flammability of the material. Take a smaller PVC gusset board and ignite it with fire. If it burns slowly, it indicates good flame retardancy. Under normal circumstances, the oxygen index should be more than 30% for effective fire prevention; otherwise, the flame retardancy may be insufficient.

Requesting a Report:
Seek a quality inspection report and qualification certificate from the dealer to avoid unnecessary trouble. The product performance indicators should meet requirements such as a thermal contraction rate of less than 0.3% and a high oxygen index. Additionally, check if the product packaging includes the factory name, address, telephone number, and adherence to execution standards. Purchase from reputable and regular manufacturers.

How to Process Coloured PVC Foam Board

Sculpting and Surface Enhancement:
●Use a sculptor to shape the PVC foam board according to the design diagram.
●Choose a surface and apply a beautiful board or paint to enhance the appearance.
●Opt for a 2mm thick PVC board for this process.

Bending Molding
●Applicable only to solid foam plates; hollow foam plates are not suitable for bending molding.
●Place upper and lower molds over an aluminum plate on a wooden mold surface.
●Heat the solid foam plate to plasticize, with a temperature range between 70 and 90 °C.
●Use the molds to shape the foam plate surface without altering its form.

Self-Adhesive PVC Processing
●Provide wood grain with different lines as needed during manufacturing to eliminate unnecessary processing steps.

Paint Treatment
●Treat the surface of the PVC foam board with paint.
●Classify paint options into general paint, piano paint, and ceramic paint based on processing methods.
●Consider ceramic paint for its advantages in surface hardness.

Surface Enhancement and Edge Processing
●Use a crystal board, Mei Na board, or Mei Kaishi paper on the surface.
●Automatically process the edge, with two types of automatic border sealing machines: roller-wheel and crawler.
●For hollow foaming, use a color similar to the surface material to avoid color differences after paper application.

Drilling and Border Sealing
●Use a band-type border sealing machine for drilling to prevent uneven edges.
●Adjust pressure carefully during the process.
●Optionally, use an NC machine to process the foaming board directly into drilling holes.
●Adjust the material density as needed to enhance the foam's insulation and soundproofing capabilities.
●Note that using vacuum molding on table surfaces may have disadvantages.

How to Paint PVC Board

Gather Your Materials
For a basic PVC paint job, you'll need a large sheet of high-grit sandpaper, a small container of acetone, a clean washcloth, one or more cans of spray paint in your chosen color and the PVC you wish to paint. Make sure you have everything you need before you begin painting.
● Practice proper workshop safety. Wear gloves, protective eyewear and a ventilated facemask to filter out dust and chemicals.

Prepare Your Work Area
Lay down a large dropcloth or plastic tarp where you plan to do your painting. Keep all furniture and nearby appliances and electronics covered. Remember to work in a space that permits proper airflow, like a garage or workshop with the doors and windows open.
● Work in a well-ventilated, open space. This will not only help the paint dry faster but keep you from being exposed to harmful acetone and paint fumes.
● Spray paint tends to disperse when it's applied, so a dropcloth will be useful for protecting floors, countertops and other work surfaces.

Measure And Cut the PVC for Its Intended use
The PVC should already be the right size and shape for the project you have planned. Take care of any necessary measuring, cutting and assembling in advance. That way, all you'll have to do is add a custom color and install.
● If the PVC you're painting needs to be fitted with elbow corners, for instance, they should be in place prior to sanding and painting.

Sand the Outside of the PVC
Go over the outer surface of the PVC with a high-grit sandpaper. The most efficient way to do this is to place the sheet of sandpaper in your palm and wrap your whole hand around the pipe. You can then scour the PVC from one end to the other with a wrapping motion to achieve a uniform finish.
● Avoid over-sanding the PVC, as this can result in walls of inconsistent thicknesses that may wear out at a faster rate.
● A fine sandpaper with a grit of 220 or higher is recommended.

How to Choose Between PVC Panels and FRP Boards

Durability and Longevity
PVC Panels
PVC panels are known for their outstanding durability. They are resistant to moisture, termites, and other common environmental factors. This makes them ideal for wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens. PVC panels have a long lifespan, ensuring that your investment will stand the test of time.

FRP Boards
FRP boards are durable as well, but they may not be as resistant to moisture as PVC panels. They are more commonly used in industrial environments where extreme durability is required.

Ease of Installation
