Introduction to PVC board

From different angles, PVC boards can be distinguished:

General performance PVC resin is a white or light yellow powder with a relative density of 1.35-1.45. The hardness and softness of the product can be adjusted by adding the number of portions of plasticizer. The water absorption and air permeability of pure PVC are very low.

Mechanical properties PVC has high hardness and mechanical properties. It increases with the increase of molecular weight, but decreases with the increase of temperature. Rigid PVC has good mechanical properties, and its elastic modulus can reach 1500-3000MPa. The elasticity of soft PVC is 1.5-15 MPa. However, the elongation at break is as high as 200% - 450%. The friction of PVC is general, with static friction coefficient of 0.4-0.5 and dynamic friction coefficient of 0.23.

Thermal performance PVC has very poor thermal stability. It starts to decompose at 140 ℃, and the melting temperature is 160 ℃. The linear expansion coefficient of PVC is small, it is flame retardant, and the oxidation index is more than 45.

Electrical performance PVC is a polymer with good electrical performance, but its electrical insulation is inferior to PP and PE due to its large polarity. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss tangent and volume resistivity are large, and the corona resistance is poor, which is generally suitable for medium and low voltage and low-frequency insulation materials.

Environmental performance PVC can withstand most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts and most organic solvents. Suitable for pharmaceutical and chemical anti-corrosion materials.
